With youth unemployment remaining stubbornly high – well over 900,000 – and ‘half of recent UK graduates … stuck in non-graduate jobs’, according to the ONS, there is still work required from government, employers and skills delivery agencies. This event will focus on questions such as: the shape of Labour’s renewed skills offer if it were in government; how an incoming Labour government would work with employers to provide job opportunities for young people and new pathways into their sectors; and how do employers and skills providers need to change their offer to young people.
