Progress political weekend 2019

Join us to debate the future of the Labour party and the renewal of centre-left Labour politics.

9-10 March 2019

Each year Progress organises a political weekend full of workshops, seminars and plenaries with Labour’s front bench and leading progressive thinkers. Held at Stoke Rochford Hall, the event has become a regular feature in the Labour political calendar.

£175 per person for Progress members
£300 for couples tickets
£90 for day tickets
All tickets include meals and accommodation.

Deadline is Monday 11th February
Every year we have 30 bursaries available for Progress members; a bursary reduces the cost of a weekend ticket from £175 to just £50. Any member of Progress can apply and at least half the bursaries will be reserved for women.

To apply for a bursary simply send your answer to one of the questions below to


a) Who from the Labour movement inspires you the most? Why?
b) Which issue should the Labour party talk about more? Why?
c) Which issue that led to Brexit would you address first? Why?

Here’s a list of ways you could submit your answer (this is not an exhaustive list; let your creative juices flow):

A blog post (maximum 600 words)
A video (maximum five minutes)
A presentation
A podcast (maximum ten minutes)
A speech
An Instagram story (at least six posts)
A Twitter thread (at least five tweets)

We particularly encourage applications from BAME and LGBT+ applicants, as well as those with a disability.

Conditions of booking: Fees for Progress’ political weekend 2019 must be paid by 12pm on Friday 15 Febuary 2019; if payment is not received by this date Progress cannot guarantee your place at the weekend. We cannot be held responsible for the non-arrival of information regarding the event. We regret that no refunds can be made after Friday 1 February 2019. Refunds cannot be given for a failure to attend the conference. The booking form constitutes a legally binding agreement. Progress reserves the right to change the schedule, the venue, or the speakers, and reserves the right to decline booking applications. No refunds will be provided by Progress in the event of cancellation due to reasons beyond our control. Progress political weekend is only open to Progress members. All members of Progress are members of the Labour party. Existing Progress members will recieve priority booking.
