Important: we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone Political Weekend until a later date.

Given the by-election called in Gorton and Denton, with polling day just before the weekend, we believe that postponement is the right decision in order to ensure that the event can take place with the full participation and quality our members deserve

The new date for your diary if the 4th to 5th of July, still in Birmingham.

The Programme

Ticket types

From Saturday morning through to Sunday afternoon you will hear from leading Labour politicians alongside sessions led by experts and campaigners to skill you up.

Breakout sessions will run in parallel on three themes:

  • Communications
  • Politics
  • Training

This year we will also be running a campaigning session in partnership with local MPs to put some of these skills to the test.

This year as well as weekend tickets which include accommodation we are offering separate day tickets for the Saturday and Sunday and the opportunity to join us for a gala dinner on Saturday night.

Weekend ticket: A full two days of training, including accommodation and the gala dinner on Saturday night.

Saturday/Sunday day tickets: Join us for the day. Does not include accommodation or dinner.

Gala dinner: On the evening of Saturday July the fourth we’ll be joined by a national Labour figure for gala dinner. Join us!

Bursaries

Progressive politics is for everyone but all politics can be intimidating to get involved in. Political weekend aims to break down these barriers and bring more people of different ages and backgrounds into the movement.

To help make the event more accessible we have two bursary schemes.

Under 27s: Open to all young people, reduces cost to £50 for students and unwaged, £100 for those in work.

Broadening access: Open to all age groups, with a focus on under-represented demographics. Reduces cost to £50 for students and unwaged, £100 for those in work.

Accommodation and Venue

We will be holding the conference at a location in Birmingham which will be revealed on registration.

Every weekend ticket comes with breakfast on Sunday, lunch both days, and a double room. Day tickets include lunch.
